  • Maretarium, the aquarium in Kotka, is a unique attraction: it presents the underwater world of Finnish wildlife.
  • The largest of the 22 tanks is the Baltic Sea Tank.
  • In Maretarium you can learn and experience the world of fish. Also headphones with recorded guidance available.
  • The huge Baltic Sea tank is 7 metres deep and 10 metres in diameter.
  • In Kotka Maretarium the visitor can come into close contact with the fish.

  • Santa Claus visits Maretarium too on Christmas.

Before starting the Maretarium tour, pick up a list of fish at the ticket sales and see how many species you can see during the tour. Huggable Hanna the Pike for children in the summer season from Monday to Friday. Meripuoti Shop sells maritime souvenirs and gifts.

Maretarium is a kingdom of Finnish fish! The world of Finnish fish in its full diversity is revealed at Aqurium House Kotka Maretarium in Kotka city centre.

At the Kotka Maretarium you can discover the way of life hidden beneath the water surface. Maretarium presents the specialities of the aquatic world in a fun way. You can meet face to face over 50 different species of fish native to Finland. Maretarium houses many species which cannot be seen anywhere else in the whole world. The aquarium tour presents Finnish aquatic life from the Gulf of Finland to the fell brooks of Lapland in specific tanks.

The tanks also contain the Finnish crayfish species, autumn and winter visitors from the Arctic Ocean, and small water animals and bugs from summer waters.
